“The house itself is amazing. We arrived and were checked in by Sarah, who was extremely warm, welcoming and lovely. That is where our great experience with staff ended. We had picked up some cheese and meat from the town over on our way to Arcachon. We stored this in a single bag in a refrigerator in the kitchen - as there is no fridge in the room. When we came to remove this and eat it in the evening, we experienced extremely rude staff who made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. We were told it is "against the rules" to store food in the fridge and they had "had problems with guest food before". The house rules link on their accomodation webpage is broken. There is no way we could have known this before arriving. It really tainted our stay. As I said, the property, grounds and view itself are incredible, and Sarah was fantastic but we felt compelled to hide out in our room for most of our stay after the unpleasant experience with the remaining staff. I suggest these people explore employment in an alternative industry as hospitality is not to their strengths. ”
