“Mostafa and Joe are very helpful! It’s a very lovely and cute place to stay. My partner and I had a very good time at Mostafa’s. Also a reminder to bring mosquito repellent as there were many mosquitoes but it wasn’t their fault. I think it’s all around Nile River. The both of them are just too nice!!”

“Stayed four nights at Krouma and it was amazing. Out of the main hustle and bustle of Aswan, which is what I wanted. The boat to take you over to the island runs until 10pm but I arrived late and also got back late one evening and Mody got me across! I found not all taxis through the indrive app wanted to come and pick me up, it's pretty off road. Getting a tuktuk back from town is probably easier. It's a short walk up to the main road where you can flag a taxi down. Or Krouma can arrange a driver (250egp from the train station when I stayed). It's about a 10 minute walk along the Nile to the ferry for Seheil Island. The island is so beautiful, being able to get up and walk into the Nile for a swim was so special. I also hired a kayak and went round the island which was fun. I went the wrong way round and couldn't make it against the current but was rescued by a boat who took me back. The oriental breakfast was delcious and the cafe is a gorgeous place to sit with a fresh juice or a turkish coffee any time of day or night. The lodge I stayed in was basic but the shower was hot and the bed was comfortable. There was no Nubian entertainment on while I was there, but I found out on the last day that there were some musicians staying. Krouma hosts art residencies and they are connected to local artists. I hope to come back and get involved with something like that.”

“This hotel is fabulous! Large comfortable family room, very near the port with easy access to markets and shopping. The food was amazing, very tasty and very generous dishes. The staff were great. Somaya and her team organised trips and drivers at our request and immediately helped if we had any problems. Would highly recommend this hotel and can't wait to return in the future. ”

“Asraf is a hospitable hosts. He was seated outside of his Nile River facing house (sunrise riew) , with an English speaking friend, awaiting our arrival. Our room equipped with air-conditioning comes with bathroom attached and hot shower, and a louvre window that opens up to a scenic view of passing yachts and the Aswan Dock across the river. We had a great stay. If you want to experience Nubian village life with Nubian host, Asraft is your pick. ”
