“Overall it's a very nice, comfortable and clean hotel with attentive staff. For someone who prefers light immersion into amazon this is ideal spot. Positives: everything is well maintained, reasonably little bugs that bite (while we had some bites, that is to be expected when you are in the forest, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't use bug spray or wear closing that helps limit the number of bites). Restaurant experience was good for us but make sure you tell them in advance what you want and when. Good value for money too. Negatives (yes, not many places are perfect): no hot water in the shower, and it was no fun to wash a 1 year old kid in cold water. Not sure if it's temporary or permanent but be prepared. Wines at the restaurant are priced higher than in most places in Ecuador ($40/bottle) - I guess it's one of the ways to help running a big place with fairly few rooms. I wish more staff could speak basic English, usually it's only manager on duty that can communicate in English (with that being said some basic Spanish is needed in many places in Ecuador, so this isn't an exception).”
