“We are a family of four including two teenagers. Hotel struggling weeks after its grand opening. Has potential to be on the higher end but Hyatt (yes, this is a World of Hyatt) rushed to open it. I have been a Hyatt Discoverist or higher for several years and don’t believe this meets the Hyatt standards. I have stayed from Hyatt Place to Park Hyatt levels internationally. Although some facilities (café, spa, reception, some bars, the beach, gardens/landscaping, choice and quality of restaurants and friendly staff) are really nice, the rush to open clearly hurt. The biggest flaw is in the check-in system. Check-in took forever for countless families.. It took us 10 hours between our arrival at 1pm and finally getting our room at 11pm. I had booked and paid for a Deluxe Family Room (describes as 66sqm, a king size bed and two double beds). They first gave us a room half the size with one bed (!). They then made two rooms communicate but there was only one bed in the second one. We had a set of passes working for each room (important detail for what follows). We were assured that they were going to add a second bed in the second room. We came back to the room only to find another family which key pass was working for the same room!!!!! Long story short, after countless discussions and back and forth; we ended up with a late check out and a free 30-minute massage. Still, the hotel made us sign a release! Further notes on the hotel, which was not as advertised : the kids club (for small children), the pool toboggan, the main restaurant overlooking the beach are not finished. Our rooms experienced leakage, from the AC unit but possibly from other causes (lots of water on the floor). Really strong, bad smell (humidity?) in the bathroom. Mud on the wall tiles (signs that rooms are not finished). Pictures available upon demand..”

“Habitaciones con estilo colonial anticuado / presión de agua bajista/ aire acondicionado averiado / "Sr. Miguel" (Gerente nocturno) no se hace responsable y escurrida el bulto alegando que ka reserva no se hizo directamente (se hizo con Agoda).... Hotel para yankies de bajo nivel.... ojo, a las 18h cierran todas las piscinas!!!! y la playa!!!!....mala experiencia en general.”

“The food was the worst food I have ever tasted. Everything is usually Italian based. No Dominican food anywhere. The waiters were mostly super lovely especially those in the huts and who make coffee. But we saw roaches in the front lobby. There were bed bugs in people rooms, rats and the staff check in didn’t care and most of the rooms were not ready upon arrival or not what was paid for. We experienced no hot water. Our fridge did not work. ”
