“I stayed at Tierra Magnifica with my wife and was totally, completely blown away by the experience. The staff of the hotel and restaurant consistently exceeded our expectations and hopes for any travel experience—often willing to extend help, support and kindness well beyond what I would consider to be reasonable at even the very best resorts. I have too many examples of this to list, however let me share one experience that I think encapsulates what we experienced every day. We arrived at Tierra Magnifica more than 4 hours late. Our travel experience up until that point had been terrible due to our poor preparation and the fact that we’d been traveling for nearly 20 straight hours without eating a full meal. Upon arriving, the concierge greeted us, showed us to our room and asked if we were hungry. We were very hungry, but I knew the kitchen had closed. I asked if there were any other options. Our concierge went to find out our options while we got settled in the amazing room. Upon his return, the concierge told us that the chef had stayed late to cook us a meal and brought us to the restaurant. He sat us down and got us drinks, and introduced us to the wonderful restaurant manager. Then, he introduced us to one of the property’s three wonderful dogs. Finally, he introduced us to Paulo, the deeply talented and creative chef (one look at the menu should confirm this, and let me assure you it’s even better than it sounds and looks). Paulo explained that he’d prepared a meal of comfort food - chicken, mashed potatoes, and grilled vegetables. He’d served it in to go containers in case we just wanted to bring the food to our rooms (we did), since he knew we were tired (we were). We gave our deep thanks and retired to the room, where we proceeded to eat one of the most delicious and fondly remembered meals of my life.
