“Good Things - 1. Location - easily accessible to other attractions (via taxi) and area of daily activities. 2. Gym - 24hrs access. Well maintained equipment. Staff are attentive and hardworking. 3. Indoor Pool - it’s available! One can swim comfortably in winter. 4. Courteous housekeeping staff. 5. Room is good with sea view and clean. 6. They have CNN and CNA for international channels. Also available are free movie streaming services available for those interested in watching movies - available in English. Only downside are TWO not so positive experiences encountered in our first day of stay: 1. When first arriving at the hotel lobby, no one came forward to help unload luggage. I have to personally walk over to pull a trolley and wave for a hotel staff to help. As the doorway was not busy at all during that time, I do not understand why no one was manning the main door to receive guests. I wondered whether it is the vehicle we were riding on was a haggard looking van….😆 2. In the evening when we were going out, we asked the doorman where to get taxi, he asked us to walk down the stairs as there was taxi outside the main road. We were amazed with the respond but follow his advice since we could see a taxi outside the main entrance. We had to lugged the cargo down the stairs on our own and approached the waiting taxi. However, the taxi driver said he can’t pick us up as he needs confirmation from hotel. So we have to carry the heavy cargo (gifts for our local friends and relatives), go up the stairs all the way and back to the lobby. This time we went straight to the concierge to inform on the incident. The concierge was experienced in managing the incident and managed to get a taxi for us soonest. He also apologised that the earlier staff was new and did not follow the right procedures. Again, my thought is that maybe we were dressed in adventure gears and did not look like hotel guests……😆 Also, appreciate hotel to do QC inspection on room equipment and amenities before handing the room to guests. On first day, I have requested to change 2 non working light bulbs in living room, a hair dryer and coffee machine. The response to change and repair was fast nonetheless. Anyway, to sum up, besides the two incidents on the first day, the rest of stay was smooth and comfortable. Generally it is a good experience. ”
