“Booked this place for a road trip from Melbourne to the ACT late at night and wanted a place to stay the night instead of in the car. We were a group of 4 and wasn’t going to get there until 2am. Owners were very flexible leaving the key for us to get access to the room as well as allowing us to leave without any hassles of any additional paperwork as it was all prepaid for. The place at first was abit spooky as we are not so used to old style hotels. You feel like you’ve stepped back in time to the early 1900s but not much more to ask as it suited us well. I understand it’s an old place and the upkeep is a lot better than old pictures I’ve seen but it was renovated enough for us to give it a pass. Why I have it a 3 for cleanliness is one day I hope for the carpet to eventually get changed as it looks very dirty although it’s as clean as it can get I suppose. The room we stayed in had a fireplace that I assume is no longer in use so to cover that off would have made appearances a lot more appropriate. Otherwise a nice place to stay at.”
