The Fern Resort is a wonderful place to stay. Everywhere you look there is natural beauty. We found our stay quiet, restful, and enjoyed every day. There is the soothing sound of water in streams and gorgeous lush plantings. The Fern resort focuses on nature and peacefulness. If you are looking for five star accommodations with all the bells and whistles, this might not be your places. The cottage we stayed in was lovely, spacious, clean - but not fancy. The other things that we loved were the restaurant, which served excellent food - especially dinners in a relaxed and spacious restaurant that is open to the natural beauty. Finally we cannot say enough about the gracious and friendly staff. From arrival to departure, they were unfailingly helpful, pleasant, and eager to help you enjoy your stay. While the resort is a few km out of town, they have wonderful shuttle service available. All in all, this was certainly one of the most relaxing places we have stayed - and I dearly hope that someday we will get to return.

The surrounding atmosphere of resort is very nice, quiet, peacful, and so natural. It's good idea of resort to use staffs who are from local village. They are very friendly. If you are dog friendly, you will love it here. Their dogs are so smart and cute. Dogs have been trained to be your guild for forest trekking (whole trail is approx. 4 hours but you can also do a half trail too). I love everything here and will definitely come back here again.

The resort is in a large space in the jungle with rice fields with exceptional view of the hills and amazing sunsets. The onsite restaurant is is excellent and very reasonable. After our meal there is a campfire to meet with fellow travellers and enjoy the cool evening air. The pool overlooking the rice fields is especially beautiful at sunset. The room we stayed in was not luxurious but very comfortable and clean. It was great for the price we paid. We only stayed on night on our trip around the Mae Hong Son loop, but I wished we'd stayed longer.

Tranquil, peace, seclusion, the entire resort oozes calm and peace and feels like home. So much so I kept extending my stay. Staff balance the line of disappearing into the background so you can just rest, but being right there to help if you need it with a mastery that is rare. At many resorts they can be overly solicitous which I find tiring and annoying. Here they really get it right, probably because they are genuinely happy to be doing what they are— they clearly love their little resort and what they do so much, they create an environment truly wonderful. Each bungalow is unique, which I loved. Pool was stunning oasis. Even when full resort doesn’t feel crowded. Only drawback is food, which was average to kind of gross. I kept having to eat out but would have loved to just stay put. They need more simple options with less additives in ingredients. I think it may be style of cooking, but I struggled. Even so I’d come back and live here it’s that perfect.
