Had a memorable stay in the lodge, we stayed at a very comfortable two bedroom cabin by the lake dock. Day walks abound for all ages and skill levels. Beautiful scenery abounds day and night. It was such a delightful sensory overload. Had a bad start at check in as our booking couldnt be found by a seemingly tired and frazzled front desk lady. Quick and cheery rescue by a more senior staff ironed out our initial worries as we drove all the way from Hobart. Breakfast with the booking was basic but filling. Everything else was fantastic. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice cabin with a big spa bath in the toilet. Cabin located about 5mins off st Claire lake visitor centre by the lake. The cabin was clean and comfy (comes with electric fire stove) and the bed was great too. The only problem is there is no free Wi-Fi coverage in the cabin and no phone reception as well. There were cooking utensils in the cabin sufficient for us to cook our dinner. Overall no complaints. We stayed at the south side of cradle mountain-lake at Claire and if u time, should try staying at the north.

We stayed here one night after hiking the Overland. It was decent, and we were happy, but it was very expensive for what you get. The walk to our room was incredibly long, but given the walking we'd just finished doing we took it in our stride. There is almost nothing available to purchase nearby except $10 bags of chips and $65+ bottles of wine (my partner works in an alcohol store, so it stung especially to known how much these were back home!). The staff were nice, but somewhat awkward and seemed like they were inexperienced and didn't really know what they were doing a lot of the time. Simple requests like glasses for the room, finding out what gins are available, or just to order food were a little more difficult and involved than you'd expect. Again, not upset about it, but definitely.... different. The actual room was beautiful, we got a lovely view, the heater worked incredibly well and it was once of the only rooms i've ever stayed in where i've simply sat and enjoyed the view. You can't resist, it just happens. We were very comfortable. The location is, well, it's incredible to say the least. The main lodge was lovely too, we enjoyed being there. Menu is a bit limited, but pricing for food is reasonable. Overall happy and enjoyed it, but probably wouldn't stay again for quite some time.

Unit was large and clean but the TV was pixelated, bathroom heater didn't work, car parking was a long way from the unit (it was raining heavily). Breakfast was juice, cereal and toast (toasters both needing replacement). Not what we expected for the premium price but I guess you pay for the view.
