Stunning location. Our beachfront Bure was in perfect condition, stylish and comfortable. We loved the snorkelling and saw a turtle. A nest is hatching at the moment so lots of baby turtles in the nursery. Facilities need maintenance. Lots of broken structures around the place but we don’t see maintenance happening. It’s a shame because such a beautiful place but it will fall into disrepair if they don’t get a proper management and maintenance in plan happening.

My family (me + husband + 4 kids aged 9 and under) actually shed tears leaving Nakelo Treasure Island, it is such a special place. The food is fine and the resort is looking a little worn in places, but overall it is a stunning place and we absolutely loved it. The beach is gorgeous and snorkelling off the island was excellent too. Spotting turtles in the ocean while swimming in the pool or kayaking around the island was also a highlight - so special! The turtle sanctuary was a drawcard for us when deciding where to stay and the kids were delighted - they visited the turtles every day and we were lucky to be there for New Years' Day when they released a turtle off the beach and back to the ocean. Something we'll never forget. The New Year's Eve party was also a highlight - a band, dancers, fire dancers, games and fireworks. The best NYE we have had in a long time, maybe ever. The island is small so it's easy to make friends during activities and each night at the bar/restaurant. Our kids made some great friends in Kids Club and we spent NYE with a bunch of families that we met during our time there, which definitely added to the fun. Kids Club was incredible too! Liz is an absolute star with a huge smile and boundless energy. Our youngest spent days and days afterwards saying "I miss Liz, I miss Jimmy". She still talks of them now. Jimmy was the star for us in the restaurant. Always a huge smile and such energy at work and at play (he gave it his all at the nightly group dance!). Our youngest took a real shine to him too and continues to miss him. The saltwater pool was really wonderful to swim in and view from the pool and surrounding deck was sublime. We loved Nakelo and will definitely be back. Loved it! Thank you Henry, Liz and Jimmy, and all of the other wonderfully friendly staff, for being so welcoming and making it a holiday to remember forever.

When I arrived they had upgraded me to an Ocean Front Bure. So beautiful, so clean, so spacious. The Bed was big and comfortable. The views as I stepped out my doors were absolutely breathtaking. The beach was lovely. The whole atmosphere was very relaxing… just what I wanted. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming and helpful. It’s really worthwhile involving yourself in the activities. Feed the turtles, talk to the turtles, hold the turtles and hold one of the iguanas…a really good experience. I will definitely come back again. Thank you so much to everyone at Treasure Island.

Great place, Great staff and nice options for entertainment. The only minor issue was the hot water didn't function and shower flow was low. Maybe had we complained it would have been fixed but we stayed there for 2 nights and hence not a big deal breaker

This is a wonderful island to spend a few days. My daughter (16) and I loved the snorkelling out front of the resort and appreciated that the snorkelling equipment and the boat out to feed the fish (and drop us off to swim/snorkel in) was complimentary. The bures are all with water views which was amazing and lots of hammocks dotted around under the shade. However, the high cost of the food was quite a shock to us and the lack of cheaper options made it hard to keep within our budget. For bottled water, they charged $10 a bottle (Fijian) but we later found our that they do supply water for drinking. Also, the sound of the generator was continuous outside our bure. There were others further down the island who did not have this issue. Most of the staff were so delightful and to be able to snorkel off the beach made it worth it to us.
