I had an amazing experience staying at this hotel. The staff was wonderful particularly Sammie and Tracy. Incredible historical experience. Definitely go on a tour of the theater. Surrounded by an actual Ghost Town abandoned for 50 years. It's a great experience staying here but many things are falling apart. Great location at Death Valley junction only about 15 miles to Death Valley. No restaurant on site be sure to bring all your own food and water. They have bottled water in the lobby but they don't want you to refill water bottles with it which is wrong. Fascinating history here. Highly recommended.

Well this place has the depth of history of a five star hotel with one star amenities. That is not a bad thing in general as long as you understand this place will be at least $100 per night cheaper than staying at the more upscale three star resorts in the national park. The front desk staff was nice enough and very helpful, Room sparsely finished but bed is very comfortable. I reserved a room with two beds but we only got a single queen because apparently the heat was out in the room we booked. Place sort of smells and there was no smoke detector in the room. Loved the skylight encompassing the entire roof of the walk in shower but in general bath was very old. No cafe or food available for purchase. Nearest restuarant is 7 miles down the road at the longstreet. If you want to pretend you are living in the 1800 and 1900s this place is fine. Its about a 30 min drive to Furnace Creek so you decide if it is worth saving money for an extra hour of your day.

Very good value for the price. The hotel is very conveniently located close to Death Valley National Park. The rooms are very simple and dated but that’s to be expected with a 100 year old hotel.

The hotel is conveniently located, about a 30-minute drive from the Furnace Creek Visitor Center and only 7 minutes from Longstreet Inn & Casino, which makes it easy to have breakfast and dinner there. However, the hotel itself is quite old and not well maintained. While the room was clean, the lobby and public areas were not. In addition, the room is equipped with a window-style air conditioner that provides adequate warmth, but it operates very noisily.

if you want a real experience of some wild vibes out in the middle of nowhere with no service in death valley, this is it. was a fun experience while some wouldn’t enjoy it. kindest staff. does feel like you’ve dropped into some wild west past
