We stayed 21 May 2026. We were exploring the redwoods. Was full the evening during our stay indicating it's popularity. Check in with ID, credit card and car registration. Simple and quick. Ample parking, free. 24 hr coffee of various persuasions from a self service dispenser, various teas too, complimentary. Lift to 3rd floor. Very spacious room with 2 beds, TV, fridge, microwave, dining table with 2 chairs, and 2 lounge chairs with small table. Our room faced the mountains and so was very quiet. Shower hot and powerful. Beds soft and comfortable, sheets clean. Aircon worked well. No real issues with the room. Comfortable overall and pleasant. Its not a modern hotel, but rather a 60s style. Complimentary carbohydrate breakfast with beverages, as expected. Breads, cereals, bagels, and so on. We are glad we chose to stay here.

It was quite clean, and comfortable. The food was simple but fine and fresh (breakfast cereal, bagels, bread, cream cheese, fruit jellies, juices, coffee, instant hot chocolate and apple cider, etc). The rooms and building were starting to show their age (scratches/nicks on furniture, etc), but things worked fine and there were many free tv channels. The views were as good as any hotel provided in the area of the port or trees behind the building, but don't expect any FANTASTIC views from any hotel in this flat city. It was nice and easy to walk a few minutes to the beach or port.... or even hike about 30 minutes to the lighthouse. Overall, it was comfortable and clean and fine for a budget traveler (decorations were outdated... 80s and 90s), but we only paid $82. If we paid like $110 or more, then I'd be disappointed. But it met out needs very well for out one night stay. I definitely recommend it. We were pleased and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

This was the second time this month I stayed at the LHI. It is a real treat to stay at a really authentic place that captures the spirit of an adventurous ocean town. I love the decor and the building itself, also it is very reasonable to stay here. The people are pleasant and I am looking forward to returning soon. Thank you LHI for being so incredible.

Friendly, attentive staff and generally pleasant stay. No shortfalls anywhere really, especially for the price

We liked the spacious room, long vanity area, table and chairs, and on-site laundry facilities. Free breakfast featured cereals and pastries, and coffee, hot chocolate, etc were available. Staff were friendly and helpful.
