Thunderbird Lodge

We stayed at the Thunderbird Lodge during our visit to the Canyon de Chelly. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The rooms were quite clean. Having a cafeteria on hand that's open from 6:30 am to 9pm helped us leisurely taken the canyon, including sunset which was past 8pm. The food is fresh and decent. We loved the blue corn pancakes!

The accommodation was nice overall and we had a pleasant stay. However, the bed was a little small for my taste. There was also not enough shower gel in the bathroom, which was a minor inconvenience. During our stay, we experienced several power outages, which were clearly beyond the hotel’s control. However, we received no information from the staff about the situation. One of the outages lasted for more than an hour. I think the hotel could have made an effort to inform guests by coming to the rooms. A small gesture or compensation at check-out would also have been appreciated given the inconvenience. Overall, the accommodation was good, but communication with guests during the power outage could definitely have been improved.

Unique stay for us. First time staying in a Navajo run place. Property is nice and well kept. Check in/out was very smooth. The place was absolutely quiet! A couple of issues though. First the bathroom was remodeled but they didn't take the opportunity to raise the shower head to a decent height. It's still stuck at about 5'4' inches. Second, the room had a faint odor that we could not identify but went away after we were in the room for a bit.

it was so peaceful and calm-the kitchen staff were very friendly and helpful. we took the canyon tour and it was alot of fun and beautiful

The location was excellent, room was spotless and well-stocked, staff was exceptional, price was far below other options. A+
