I will start by saying that all the staff that we encountered were very friendly and accommodating so top notch in that area. We enjoyed the fitness room for our after dinner walk because it was so hot and humid outside. My niece and I also enjoyed our fun time in the pool because we had it all to ourselves. The pool room was nice but I do think the pool could have been bigger/wider. I cannot imagine having more than 4 people in the pool at one time and really be able to enjoy it. Oddly enough, the bathroom in the pool area was locked but since we were ready to go back to the room it wasn't a big issue. Breakfast was nothing exceptional but adequate for a light meal. I can't speak to any other meals since we didn't eat lunch or dinner there. Location was great since we were near the mall and its outparcel shopping and restaurants, and close to I40 so easy to find. The hotel room could use a refresh. We didn't find the pillows comfortable or the bedding appealing but they were clean. AC worked well but the bath tub/shower combo appeared dated but was clean. The hallways and elevators felt like a sauna which I found odd...absolutely no AC in those areas. Even though it stated 2 queen beds, they were full size. I've stayed at hotels where the beds were truly queen size, plus I have 2 queen beds at home so I know the difference. There was a small microwave and fridge in the room as well as single cup coffee machine and all appeared to be in good condition. The lobby was nice and seemed up to date so it's a nice first impression upon entering. The cafe is to the left of reception and had adequate seating. Our breakfast was included in the room price but we weren't told that we could also ask for made-to-order options so we assumed the buffet was it since there were no menus on the table or offered. Not sure why that is not communicated when you sit down for breakfast so that was a big fail on the restaurant's part. We were finishing up breakfast before we checked out and heard a lady at the table next to ours order an omelet and pancakes so we asked if that was extra and she said no - it's included but you have to ask for it. Anyway, disappointing to not know that since my niece wanted them. I told her next time we travel I will be sure to ask for a menu or what the other options are outside of what is out on the buffet.

I needed to stay 1 night in Durham to help my daughter move into an apartment. The room was very clean. The hotel lobby was nice and although you had to pay extra for it, the Breakfast was good. Located conveniently close to main roads. Receptio staff wasn't too friendly. I booked the hotel late so it was expensive
