Carleton Motel and Coffee Shop

I booked a room with 1 QUEEN bed and 2 single beds for 4 adults. I received a room with 1 DOUBLE bed and 2 single beds. When I confront the owner, he told me that Booking.com/Agoda made the mistake on their website, and all their rooms have only double beds. When I told them I want to cancel the second night with full refund, he later said that he just found out there are some rooms with a queen bed and 2 single beds. That is unacceptable!

Looks simple on outside but room is clean and everything works. Only disappointment was coffee shop not yet open.

I am glad I read the reviews on Google after arriving at this motel. They do it a disservice. Yes the family that run it aren’t very welcoming. English not being their first language. The room we had was perfectly acceptable basic motel fare. A h as of decent kitchenette with microwave, fridge etc. to he whinging about the beds is odd my wife and I slept really well. Yes they are firm but my back thanked me for it. Yes you can hear a little road noise. Well you booked a motel on the trans Canada highway just off the bridge. What did you expect? Harps and an orchestra to serenade you off to sleep. The road was never loud enough to disturb us. But you could hear the trucks passing. Another valid complaint would be the emphasis on the cafe restaurant. Whilst there is a restaurant/cafe. It wasn’t offering much in the way of food and we didn’t see anyone use it or as my food being cooked. Tim Hortons is less than 5 minutes away and there are other options nearby. We drove to Victory by the sea for a fantastic meal. Ithe motel was fine for 2 nights as a base to explore PEI especially after a 4.5 hour drive in the pouring rain.
