DANGER! I called today, Jan. 27, 2026, at 1:15 am to book a hotel room for today, Jan. 27, at 2 am. *** said the price was ***. But the online price was *** or so. Apparently that is if u book online. I said I will book online. At 1:30-1:45 I booked online and added that I'd be at the hotel at 2am on Jan. 27. I called back to confirm. I was told by *** that the booking was for the 27th to the 28th. Fundamentally, I was told I have to book the stay for YESTERDAY. The day for hotels does not start at 1 minute after midnite like it does for everyone else in the world, no. I asked *** why she didn't tell me that and she hung up on me. The online booking site is, get this, is in MALAYSIA. There is NO refund thru this entity, the online site and you have to follow the cancellation policy of Motel 6 which is, as told to me SIX TIMES by Nora, go thru the online site. YOU CANNOT CANCEL A BOOKING. I called at 11am today and told Nora to cancel my room. She said I have to cancel online-except it is not possible to cancel online. I told that I won't be staying in the room tonite, and she told me SIX times, as if I were a CHILD, to canc online, even though one cannot cancel online. To. make. matters. worse., of the 2 screenshots I uploaded, the 2nd one ACTUALLY SAYS "Free Cancellation'. The 'free' part does is false AND the 'cancellation' part is ALSO false! Worse, I was unable to employ a workaround and try to change the date-nope! My money has been stolen by the overseas booking company. My money has been stolen by Motel 6. I have no intention of utilizing a Motel 6 ever again. I have no intention of using ANY online hotel booking. You have been warned. Learn from my experience. Bring sleeping bags for yourself and your family because you might have to sleep in your car. I slept in my Honda Civic last night.

Motel 6 Fountain Valley - Huntington Beach Area is situated in a prime location close to pretty much everything in OC, making it convenient for exploring the surrounding area. The value for money is decent, with affordable rates online. The rooms are generally clean, although housekeeping did not provide ANY toiletries The staff members are friendly and helpful. However, the facilities are quite limited, which may not meet the expectations of some guests. The hot water and Wi-Fi work well, but the lack of shopping options in the instant vicinity and scenic views might disappoint those seeking a beautiful view as all you will see is the Highway and the sound from the cars will keep you up all night.

I’ve had to stay here for a while between living situations and I have been able to trust the staff here with my belongings which is huge. The location is good because it’s not too far from food places and the kids daycare and school and my work. Most hotels I’ve been to have always had some kind of drama or something crazy going down and I felt my kids and I were safe the whole time. Overall thumbs up for the value.
