Cloudcroft Hostel

Very clean & owner very nice. Interesting cross-section of travellers you can meet there. Also the cheapest lodging around. I used it while visiting Ruidoso It's about a mile past the Apple Barn on the left when you drive in on 82. Big "HOSTEL" sign before the driveway. And the Apple Barn is 2 miles past the tunnel.

Stayed there for two nights. Staff and facilities were great. Bathroom was very clean. The bed was clean too. Cannot find anything to complain about. At last, maybe one point. Without a private vehicle you are possibly going nowhere.

Very nice & unusual place, off the beaten path. Unusual to me. I waa curious about this place. There are dorm-type rooms with bunk beds but I got a private room. Very comfortable and the manager (owner?) Stephanie was very kind & generous with hee time. It's a hostel, not a motel so there's a few policies to learn, to be a good communal guest. I liked it. Different. I'll stay there again sometime.

You'll regret it if you don't stay at Cloudcroft Hostel when you visit Cloudcroft or White Sands. Quiet, clean, nicely-designed, full of warm-hearted reminders and from all the details you can see a cool traveler-used-to-be.
