I highly recommend Alaska Heritage House B&B. You can walk to the center of town in a few minutes. It's nicely furnished, and rooms have windows that open. Margo, who works there, is an absolute gem. The kitchen is well stocked with drinks and snacks. A much better experience than staying at a downtown hotel!

If you want to freak yourself out, show up at this entirely empty spookshow where the proprietors apparently don't actually stay or live. We showed up at 10:00pm after a long day of travel and were the only people on premises of this rambling (albeit very cool and historic) home dotted with creepy porcelin dolls lurking in corners and the only sound the creaking off settling boards and an old grandfather clock ominously marking time from the livingroom. The owneres did finally show up at 8am the next morning and set out breakfast, and where as lovely as informative on the house's long history, but my daughter and I got very little sleep as a result of the unexpected state of things upon arrival.

Cool historical house, close to restaurants, great breakfast and host!
We had an amazing stay at the Alaska Heritage House. The B&B is in a historical house, and the rooms are decorated to show the history. There's old photos of Fairbanks throughout the house, and the woman who runs it gave us a full tour. She also cooks breakfast in the morning and it's delicious! The location is good, we walked to restaurants and a bar, as well as the tourist shops. We also walked to the train station, but I would not recommend that. Google says it's only 2 miles, but that's if you can magically fly over the highway and fences. It's more like 3-4, and some of that is on the side of the highway. The only negative is that some of the showers are pretty small (they're antique-style tubs), so if you're a large person, they might be a bit cramped. Otherwise, it was an amazing stay, would definitely recommend it for anyone staying in Fairbanks!

Amazing historic house
Go back in history at this lovely bnb. Friendly host with a wealth of information about the house. Lots of snacks as well as breakfast.
