After receiving my room on Monday July the 6th of 2026, the bathtub was filthy. The floor was nasty. There was animal feces on the floor. The entrance smelled of urine. Cleaning supplies were brought from the Dollar Tree and cleaning was conducted of the tub, toilet, and the floor. After informing the front desk employee, he said inform the general manager. After informing the owner, the owner lacked professionalism and denied that the room wasn't cleaned. The owner required pictures to reveal that the room was not cleaned. The owner couldn't provide pictures that the housekeeper cleaned the room. For voicing my concerns, he did as other Google Reviewers stated with threatening to throw you out and ban you for reporting their lack of failing to provide reasonable cleaning for the room. The owner bragged of owning over 10 hotels/motels in the area. The owner inferred that the room was cleaned based upon a housekeeping report. However, he inferred that the Google Reviews about the cleanliness and professionalism was not valid due to not being within 30 days and a room number was not provided. The following at Econolodge near the Wawa off of Oaklawn Boulevard in Hopewell Virginia in room 221 on July the 6th of 2026 had: *Feces on the floor *Bath tub was dirty *Room smelled of urine *Floor was filthy *Sofa chair was filthy The actions of the owner destroy communities. The entitlement and arrogance of the owner continue to lower the bar of quality stays of hotels and motels in the Hopewell Virginia area. The owner exhibits actions of fraudulent activity of rooming the occupant after monies are collected.
