This little gem of a hotel is directly on the Pacific, above a sea wall, halfway between Ventura and Santa Barbara. Nothing like it without sky high prices. Friendly, clean and with an excellent restaurant on premises. Highly recommended with reasonable prices.

Loved our stay! The restaurant is AMAZING. Check the weather. It was a little gloomy but still very nice.

We stayed at The Cliff House for one night, and I would give the overall experience **3 stars**. The **location and ocean views are absolutely five stars**—truly beautiful. We also went back for lunch at the restaurant, and the food was fantastic. Sitting outside by the water made it even better, and I would highly recommend the restaurant. Unfortunately, the accommodations did not live up to the location or the nearly **** nightly price, even at a sale rate. The property and rooms could really use some TLC and updating. There was no air conditioning, and although I understand that may not be necessary much of the year on the Southern California coast, it can get warm during the summer. Being on the first floor, we weren't comfortable leaving the windows open all night, and the small portable fan provided wasn't enough. Even the smaller details—the glasses, ice bucket, soaps and other room amenities—felt inexpensive and below what I would expect at this price point. We had originally planned to stay another night but decided to check out after the first night and move to another hotel with air conditioning. The staff experience was also mixed. The woman working the front desk in the evening was very friendly and pleasant. Unfortunately, the gentleman I dealt with during the day was not particularly friendly or accommodating. This property has an incredible setting and so much potential. With some investment in the rooms, amenities and overall property, it could be a wonderful destination. For us: **5 stars for the view and restaurant, 2 stars for the accommodations, and 3 stars overall.**

I had stopped by this place last year and decided to stay this year on my drive. It is a divine location right over the ocean. There were seals, porpoises and pelicans right out before me. All the rooms face the ocean. The staff are so pleasant and kind. You can have your restaurant meal outside overlooking the sea. The place is not fancy, but clean and has a retro vibe. It is a great value if you love the seashore.

The facilities are a bit older but the staff is great. They are friendly and do a great job taking care of the place. The views are amazing. Sitting by the pool and watching the waves crash while dolphins and seals swim by is pretty fantastic.
