더 사이렌 호텔, 애쉬 호텔

I was just here for one night, but I really enjoyed The Siren. The staff were all great, my room was cozy/clean, and both the Ash Bar and Candy Bar were excellent.

I will say the location and staff were great, but this hotel is not worth the expensive room rate. The rooms are so tiny, there isn’t a mini fridge, ironing board or iron or coffee maker in the room, so I thought there would be complimentary coffee in the lobby or something, but there is not. You have to go to the basement for ice and it’s dark and creepy down there. Like I said the location was perfect for a concert at Little Caesar’s Arena but I don’t think I’d stay here again. Very expensive!

I went to check in and I reserved the playroom I think it's called with two beds and upon check in I was told I had booked a queen bed only through Expedia. Imagine my surprise when I booked through Agoda that it comes up on their the hotels reservation as ***. After an hour on the phone with Agoda trying to sort out my reservation with the hotel nothing changed. The hotel offered me another room for $*** more and also stated that the room I had booked goes for over ***a night which I had obviously paid less through Agoda. The hotel then offered my traveling companion and myself the bunk bed room which we ended up taking because the queen bed was too small for the two of us. I'm a 62-year-old woman that had to climb up the bunk bed to sleep on top absolutely ridiculous of the hotel not to honor our reservation. Agoda had also said that the hotel was overbooked but if that were the case how did they have this extra bunk bedroom available makes zero sense. The hotel itself is lovely and the staff were actually very nice but the fact that nobody was willing to honor our reservation and there was no discount as this room was cheaper if I remember correctly, really made me angry. Just be careful if you book through agoda and stay there because they will not honor what you reserved and it can possibly be booked through *** without you knowing.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is great and we liked the location but as other reviews said the room was not great. We couldn’t control the heat in our room and were cold, the lights didn’t work on the main part of the room, the shower head was a rain head which looked nice but actually you couldn’t really get any pressure to rinse soap off. So while the rest of it had a ton of character the room was definitely not ideal.

Stylish and hip in downtown Detroit. The rooms are pretty spartan so beware. We were fine because we spent very little time in the room.
