What can you say about scenic Vermont even in the off season? It's still a breathtaking view. We spent our honeymoon 40(!) years ago here and came back to celebrate our anniversary. And while it's grown, not much has changed. They've added walking, hiking, biking trails, a coffee house, a brewery and an outdoor center. But every single person we came in contact with – from the doormen, front desk, and wait staff – were polite, helpful and mostly very upbeat. The room, well, it had it's issues – peeling paint, slow to heat water, and wall board on the ceiling to cover what appeared to be plumbing issues, but it was not uncomfortable. But that is what you're paying for in order to get all the other things, right? But they shouldn't offer these rooms to people until they've been repaired. And though they strongly encouraged reservations at each of their dining locations, their reservation system wasn't working, and on one or two occasions, caused a bit of a kerfuffle, but since it was off season, there never was an actual problem. Barring that, we had a marvelous time, meals in the Lounge, Main Dining Room and Brewery were excellent, and pastries in the Koffee House were vunderbar! I'd like to shout out to Nick in the brewery, Jeff on the main door, Steve in the outdoor center, and Michelle in the main dining room during breakfast. You all are great.

The resort is perfectly located at the mountain top. The vista is expansive and gorgeous. The resort has all the amenities and activities for guests of all ages. The Von Trapp family history is incredible. The food at the Bier House is very delicious especially the Johannesburger and the sausages.

A must visit for all you Sound of Music fans. Love the story & history of this place, as it continues to flouish. The room was spacious & clean, along with a comfortable bed. We got to enjoy the resturarant, brewery, bakery, gift shops & the history presentation. Which my wife & myself enjoyed very much. We wish the weather was better, to experience the outside attractions, but gives us another reason to come back!!!

loved the place, very close to the Stowe resort for skiing and a very pleasant and warm stay. The hut tub is amazing and the restaurant offers great food.

Came to ski at Stowe with kids and the excitement they had to come back and swim each night in the incredible swimming pool facility truly added to the whole trip. Didn’t need to leave the property if you didn’t want to. We will be back sometime.
