Spark by Hilton, Hummelstown Hershey is a great place to sleep. It is clean and comfortable. The soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion are good quality. The employees are nice. The location is very convenient to all that Hershey has to offer. It is a good NO FRILLS hotel. But, there are things that that traveler needs to know before they book: 1. THEY DO NOT SERVE A HOT BREAKFAST. This is fine if you know it in advance. Many guests with me in the lobby did not read reviews to see this. What they serve is a good old Continental Breakfast. Breakfast included muffins, bagels, fruit, yogurt (bulk - not individually packaged), hard boiled eggs, oatmeal packets, and cold cereal. 2. ALL THE ELECTRICAL OUTLETS IN MY ROOM WERE BLOCKED BY FURNITURE. There was an outlet by the sink and a 2 outlet port with charging pad on one of the nightstands. The lamps didn't have outlets and there was no outlet on the desk! 3. The refrigerator is small dorm sized. Again, not a huge deal but something to be aware of. 4. There was no microwave. I thought I'd read that all rooms had microwave and fridge but mine only had the small fridge. 5. The sink is outside the bathroom. 6. The bathroom consisted of only a shower and toilet. THERE IS NO TUB. This is important to some but not published anywhere I could find. 7. Because of #6, the actual private part of the bathroom is VERY SMALL. It was not large enough for me to shower and then dress (female 5'9" size 14). There are no other private areas in the room. 8. The Hot Tub was broken when I was here (July 30-31, 2026) and looked like it had been for some time. 9. SOME ROOMS ARE NOT ON AN INTERIOR HALLWAY. The hotel is built on a hill. The lobby is on the 2nd floor. All the rooms on floors 2 & 3 are hotel style and you enter from inside the building. Rooms on the first floor are MOTEL style. You enter those directly from the parking lot at the back (dark) side of the building. Had we be given one of the 1st floor rooms, I would have asked to be moved. It really looked like a different hotel back there! Finally, another word about the breakfast. While it was ok for us the first day, on the second day, there was a different attendant. While fewer people were eating, he could NOT keep up with demand, everything kept running out (even IF he had more in the back). AND that was a BIG IF... they didn't have any plain bagels, plain cream cheese, the yogurt machine broke, the fruit selection was minimal, he didn't put out the hardboiled eggs (until I asked), he let the coffee run out repeatedly... Still, I'm giving this hotel 3 stars because the actual hotel experience was really just fine. This hotel just doesn't have any Spark!

very good worth the money

This hotel is fine for a weekend stay. Recently renovated. Pool was still open even after Labor Day. Very clean. There are a couple things to be desired. Beds are great but the pillows are not. Typical hotel pillows where you have to double up or your head just sinks right to the bed. Very small mini fridge, no freezer. No microwave in the room but there is one in the lobby. 24 hour coffee in the lobby, no coffee maker in the room. No dresser in the room either. AC runs from the thermostat in the room, not the unit itself, which is fine EXCEPT if you leave the room for a certain amount of time the thing shuts off and you come back to a warm room and have to complete set the thermostat again because it doesn't remember your previous settings. That was annoying. I'm guessing it has a sensor or something in it. The breakfast is grab and go and consists of bagels, muffins, and yogurt only. And there is a orange juice machine. So all in all, it's a decent place for a weekend stay but I wouldn't stay longer then that.

Convenient location, clean facility, friendly staff, tasty breakfast, and reasonable rate. Would stay there again.

If you’re looking for modest accommodations near Hershey for your family with kids, this place is perfect. We booked a suite so had several bedrooms and plenty of room to spread out. Pool area was nice. This isn’t a place to impress, but was clean and basic accommodations that met our needs. Would stay here again with the kids.
