Not Howard Johnson

This hotel is not Howard Johnson but Sandusky Inn. It's and old hotel with a distinct smell. Rooms are nevertheless clean. There is NO breakfast even though they advertise it as such. If you have kids and want that breakfast convenience - forget it. Short distance to the park and OK for one night stay but not an exceptional hotel as it was noted to be on the website.

Overnight stop on Girls weekend

Overnight stop on our way to Michigan. Staff was very friendly, room was clean & beds comfortable. Highly recommend stopping here.

1 Night Stay

We live just over an hour away and we were in town for a baseball tournament. We had a game scheduled for 8am the next day after our game concluded at 6pm. Not wanting to make the drive, the HJ-Sandusky South was perfect. They were half the price of other hotels and still had availability. The room was clean, the beds comfortable, the A/C on and the water hot! Not many amenities, but $25 my son and I grabbed a made-to-order breakfast at the Jolly Pirate Donut Diner next door.

Great price

If you plan on just sleeping here then it is fine. You cannot beat the price, the staff was extremely friendly and the room was spotless. The room was small, but it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and it is a quick drive to Cedar Point.
