Good hotel for one night. I wouldn’t recommend long stays.

Hotel needs some work. Rooms need to be updated, my particular room was a King Family non-smoking. It was clean but carpet had pulls and furniture had cuts in various places. I was traveling with 2 cats, a first, and found the hotel was great as far as access in and out, a lot less stressful on all of us.

It’s been a long time since I stayed at La Quinta, so comparatively to others I can’t make a judgement. I would quickly add, I have never had pets with me in a hotel period. That being said, my overall stay at this hotel was alright, not bad and not great for various reasons. A first that most people associate with a La Quinta is the free breakfast. The breakfast offerings and in general were disappointing -there comparatively with other La Quintas from other properties wasn’t quite the quality as I remember. There is a hot breakfast, eggs, sausage, hash browns. The eggs are shaped like a thin disk and obviously were pre-packaged, frozen and sent to the hotel (like a hamburger patty at your local fast food restaurant. The sausage was the same, looked like a thin patty and had very little taste like the eggs. The hash browns looked just like McDonald’s, but not the same quality. McDonald’s isn’t great, but at least there’s is hot, and not dried out with no taste. Now as far as the waffles go, I would rate higher on the scale. I’m not a waffle connoisseur, nor eat them often, but during my stay of a week here, I had them several times, they tasted good with syrup, were hot (you get to make your own) - so good! Rest was your basic cereal, selection of various breads, pastries, a toaster to heat them , and a chiller with yogurt, cream cheese for ?? Raisin bread? No bagels. Other condiments to add to anything you want. Blueberry muffins were pretty good comparatively, along with the raisin toast with soft serve cream cheese, and varieties of yogurt. I did see a apple somewhere along the way, but that was the only fruit I saw. This was a consistent daily breakfast, no change. I was here over a week. All that being said, don’t get excited or your hopes up for a great breakfast buffet with freshly made eggs, sausage, and hash browns, then you’ll be ok. Not saying you shouldn’t try a processed egg and sausage patty with a dry hash brown, I did, and that’s up to you! The rooms were not great! The room I had was a Family King Suite non-smoking. Very warn carpet, with rips, and furniture was the same. Definitely not remodeled as I read in one post, nor did the bed have a new mattress. It was ok, but I found it not very comfortable and the pillows were ___. Bring your own. I guess the plus I found here was the size of this room and it’s on suite. Had two windows and two TVs. and as I eluded to at the beginning, I had pets. Two cats that had never been out of the home we lived in for 24 years. So the roominess was great with the windows and gave them a place to look out …and I guess in some odd way, the room being in poor condition and old made it more comfortable having my pets with me. They are very well behaved, but didn’t have to worry as much with a brand new room. Just saying. It’s a pet friendly hotel and for that I’m thankful. It served its purpose. Lastly, I would give the hotel staff a plus. Everyone I encountered here was very friendly and helpful. Hopefully this helps. The hotel overall is clean and seems to be run well. So stay with your pet and enjoy, just don’t expect a lot and you’ll be okay. I stayed a week, and would come back again, just for the ease coming and going and having my two cats with me.

If you have a next day flight from IAH this is a great place to stay.
