Birch Haven by the Beach

Great value for a self catering family holiday. Facilities quite basic but everything you need. Owners very friendly and helpful. But best of all its very close to beach and local amenities.

Requested for early checkin and were repeatedly reminded that 1 hr early checkin was given as an exception (duh? Are you new in business). Say and mention no if you can’t! Window with no curtain was replaced with plastic sheet that too after a reminder causing privacy issue Barbeque was shared and cylinders vanish in the morning as neighbouring guests take it without asking Uncomfortable beds, 3 bedroom cottage is like crawl space for 6 ppl. Had to rearrange dining table to be able to even walk. Were reminded that toiletries whatever is included is what you get which we had to be mindful of Tried our best to keep the house clean (Folded bedsheets, cleaned the utensils etc.) but when asked for refunding the deposit, owner mentioned that you didn’t sweep/mop the floor, so they weren’t initially willing to refund but then did refund as an exception. What a joke!
