HI Portimao - Pousada de Juventude

The room 219. (fyi: you can find in this room a portugese, homeless man, housed by gov, he calls himself the african ma. Well this guy is just a nasty piece of work and here is why: he asked me not to talk, he asked me not to have any snacks in the room. He was playing music on a loud speaker, black music or rap music (music about shooting people, gangs and yeah man, bro ...) he asked me if i have any weed or hash (or something like that). Also at some stage this homeless man was asking me to behave better (or something like that). Not to forget, he likes the room warmer than a sauna. He never opens the window. And washing ... its time consuming. The Staff: really nice staff. A big thank you to Monica with all her help. The place: it has a nice swimming room and is not far from Aqua Shopping Centre.

It's inconvenient to travel. You need to uber or bolt to the beach or eat food, It's not cheaper, recommend to stay near the beach.

I was woken up at 04:00 by ichy hands and switched on the light and there was teo bed bugs.Stayed awake with lights on until morning. I went to report to the italiano lady at reception and she and the cleaning lady came to attack whilst having breakfast instead of apologising.We stool there arguing and I had to fetch my pillow which was abit stained as I killed a bed bug.Thé ladies were very rude..

I’m so happy I chose this hostel! All of the staff were so nice and helpful, the breakfast was good, they had a good pool and for me it was perfect location as I was looking for a more relaxed time and close to the skydiving place as that’s what I went there for. The rooms were clean and a good size with not overcrowding, the hostel had great common areas and I generally just liked having a chat and laugh with the staff that were really nice. If I go back to portimao, I will definitely stay with them again! I just hope that their other hostels are just as great as this one, highly recommend!!

Just one negative think - the hostel is far from city center (about 30 min walk) and beach (additional 30 min). Kitchen is clean in the morning and not in the evening. Of cause it is guests fault, they don't clean after themselves properly. Staff is friendly and helpful, rooms are clean. The pool with a shower outside is nice.
