Good location with access to Mount Bromo, very good breakfast and the staff are very helpful and approachable

Decent room for the price. The water is hot. Be aware it’s by the road. Locals seem to love driving super loud motorbikes up and down the road pretty frequently. Owners are nice. Close to bromo viewpoints for sunrise. Suggest bringing some snacks and food as it’s hard to buy things locally. Good price. Free hot water and coffee.

The distance from the station to the hotel is very far and the journey is very dangerous. No driver was willing to take us there, so we didn't check in and wasted the hotel fee. The merchant didn't inform us about how to get to the hotel either. Not recommended.

The worst homestay I’ve stayed at in Indonesia (and I’ve been travelling for a month). No hot shower, no sink, and the bed sheets had human hair on them! I understand you can’t expect much for the price, but the treatment from the owners was truly awful. It’s not about speaking English — it’s about having the willingness to help your guests, and here there was none. From the moment we arrived, the older couple who runs the place looked at us with such disdain that I felt uncomfortable being there. I asked about the Jeep tour and only got overpriced rates with zero explanation. I asked about the hot shower (which didn’t work, and trust me, after visiting Bromo you’ll want one), and five minutes later they just gestured that it was “fixed” — but when I tried it, the water was still freezing cold. Finally, when it was time to leave, we needed transport. I asked about a minivan, and instead of helping, they just sent us to a family member who tried to charge 650k to Malang. I desperately asked around for help to take local transport, but no one wanted to help — just scams and mafia-style tactics. Honestly, if you want to have a better experience at Bromo, go to Cemoro Lawang instead!
