Halcyon Days @ Langkawi

Spacious and clean room, bathroom also clean and spacious with high water pressure. Strategic location, 15 minutes from airport and 10 minutes away from Pantai Chenang. Friendly owner and staff provide umbrella when about to rain, respond to our request almost immediate. Nice breakfast, we took various local breakfast in our 2 days stay. Highly recommended place to stay.

We stayed here for four nights in the February. Each unit is actually two connected rooms, each with separate bathroom. I asked them to leave our connected room empty, and they kindly accepted. The whole place is in the middle of rice fields, which were empty during our stay. Sorunding area is a jungle, so you're in the heart of the nature, with nature sounds. The only problem we had, was some small lizards in the room which scared us and also were so annoyed us during the night, because of their loud noise they make. I couldn't sleep well during our stay here. If you're ok with that, or you can do something about the lizard, everything else is worth the money. Water pressure is great. Air conditioner is ok.

The staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is great. However, I got bitten by quite a few mosquitoes or bugs, and it would be better if the cleaning could be a bit more thorough.

The room is clean, but some stuffs like slippers, shower caps, disposable toothbrush and sanitary bags not provided. Hair dryer needs to get from the person who manage the property during the day (not the owner). Unfortunately, it was raining the first day we arrived. There were a lot of insects flying into the room, and we can see the crickets moving around and chirping the whole night (due to the door can’t be closed properly and they come in thru the hole). Honestly, I am not quite satisfied with our staying experience, and less likely to recommend this guest house for other tourists.

I spent almost two weeks at Halcyon Days @ Langkawi and enjoyed every day. The bungalow was perfectly clean and has everything I need. Breakfast was typical Malaysian and changed every day. The staff and the owners are very friendly and a great source of knowledge about Malaysia and especially Langkawi. When I booked my stay I had some concerns about the closeness to the airport, but eventhough I could see lights from the airport by night, I have never heard an airplane. I also thought about mosquitos due to the close paddy fields. But as the owner explained they are not using any pesticides, thus they don't kill the natural predators of the mosquitos. I was once stung by a mosquito, but that happend near the beach. I am so happy that I booked Halcyons Days for my stay and can highly recommend these bungalows.
