The hotel is not near the city centre You have to walk like 20 minutes to the city centre but it can be done The hotel is very clean and the staff nice and kind But the staff did made a mistake of over charging me by mistake because they did not know that I already paid for the hotel room for two nights. Lucky I checked my records and found out for myself and then they refunded me the money. The hotel is very clean and I got a quiet upstairs room as requested. The hotel does not have a restaurant and only has a bar The hotel has a large green space behind the hotel and one can walk down to see the river and Salisbury Cathedral is in the distance. The bed was comfortable The bed linen and towels all very clean The room was large but the table was quite small to put things on it

The hotel was lovely. The back patio and lawn area were a highlight; we enjoyed an evening drink (and game) looking at the river with the cathedral in the background. Our visit was during a heatwave, so we greatly appreciated the a/c in our room. The hotel was a little further walk from the train station than we realized. The walk, while long, was lovely. Though the hotel offers some shuttle service, it was only in the evening. Most visitors appeared to have cars. The staff were all kind and helpful. At £17, the breakfast seemed pricey; we found a lovely cafe/coffee shop in town instead.

Absolutely beautiful building with some great views. Sadly the rooms have all been revamped without thought to the era of the original house. I stepped into a fine Victorian house but slept in a new build ode to grey. I hope they add a little character back into those rooms soon.

My jaw dropped when I saw the view from the back! Truly gorgeous location. I could sit at their porch for hours just looking out at the beautiful scenery. It is also within walking distance to the centre, and the meadows. Other plus point: the staff is very friendly and helpful! Minus points from my end: 1) I found the bed and pillows not very comfortable 2) they could not offer a baby cot, so had to bring my own. Mind you, there is no lift, but the staff is always very helpful with carrying things up and down, if needed. 3) The decor of the room could also use a little colour, and the bathroom an extra surface for toiletries. I think I would not pay the rate I had again if it wasn’t for the location, but then again, it is pretty unique! Thanks to all the staff for your kind help during our stay :)
