Good but basic room, typical for a pub. Nice stay, clean, comfortable bed, great beer selection, easy to book in no problems and we very much enjoyed our brief stay in Newbury.

Comfortable room, friendly staff. The building is old -- historic Newbury! -- but the fittings & fixtures work just fine. Good location, right in town.

Vent through the wall, possibly a bit more thermal insulation, and some Dettol mould killer would make it a lot more pleasant and salubrious. Room also not very clean. Staff were lovely though, shower works well, beer is cheap, location very good.

Very clean and very helpful friendly staff. Gave good advice and help to get us on our way. The rooms were nice and clean, although on a weekend it may be noisy as outdoor seating was right by our door. Would definitely stay again.

It was OK but not good. Primary problem was the very poor Wifi. Basically it hardly worked - I was unable to download newspaper. Also lousy mobile signal - which is not their fault. The other problem was that there was no soap in the dispenser - there was a little bit in the shower - but that ran out after the first day. My son in another room had no soap at all in his dispensers. Stayed 2 nights, They didnt clean or check the room so didnt get the soap replenished, Other thing I didnt like was that street access was closed until 11:00 (12:00 on Sunday) so had to go out the back and round the street to access the high street. Not convenient. But it was cheap.
