We had very high expectations that were not quite fulfilled.We saw the host only very briefly and received from a staff member only some suggestions for dinner. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean but lacked the basics like glasses and there was no soap for the shower - a problem if you are travelling light. It would have been lovely to have a little kettle or coffee machine in the room. We tried to get a coffee on our return from dinner and in the darkness another guest showed us a coffee machine in the breakfast room. It didn’t work and we were unsure whether it was for guests anyway The swimming pool doesn’t open until June 1st which wasn’t clear when we booked and there was heavy machinery around it as the owners have built a large salle de fêtes . Breakfast was very good, but again no explanations and nobody around -we found a table and helped ourselves surrounded by tables that hadn’t been cleared .It’s a shame as it a lovely quiet property. Maybe we caught them in a bad day.

Little extras would make a difference

Has potential but missing attention to detail
We had a nice 1 night stay. The venue and setting is beautiful and the hosts were welcoming. The accommodation is functional and modern, but missing the small details you might expect in an AirB&B style accommodation. Would recommend for a short stay to explore nearby area.

Hosts are lovely and welcoming. The surrounding is exceptional and exactly what we were looking for. It was a very relaxing stay.

Rude host and not a pleasant experience
The host was rude. On the first day we arrived we told her that our luggage was stolen and had to spend 3 hours in the police station. She did not offer any care but insisted she could not accept us after 9:30 pm. When we arrived we found that she was actually only living next door. The chateau is cute and cosy but there was a complete lack of signs. We got told off by the host rather bluntly for a few times that we cannot enter “private areas” in the chateau. The host sent her assistant to do wine touring for us and we saw her doing for big groups only. We felt as though we were unimportant guests. Not a pleasant experience overall.
