The property is a modern construction, but it seeks to convey the wrong impression that it is a heritage property. They might say it has a heritage view as it provides a view of an old mansion opposite! One sees the difference when the guests are taken to "The Mansion" for breakfast. It is a magnificent building where the guests are allowed to take photos and videos. The owner's family lives in the mansion. The workers are a mix of locals and migrant workers. The highlight of the property is the courteous staff, particularly Ms Deivanai at the reception and Pandian. Ms Deivanai was kind to accommodate our request for a ground floor room and explained in detail about the property when we checked in. The rooms are clean, but as in many Indian hotels, the AC unit and TV unit are difficult to handle as the remotes do not work because of dead batteries. The sockets do not work for iPhone chargers. On request, the night watchman was quick to provide an alternative charger. One downside of our stay relates to the cancellation of our dinner order. We did not know about a nearby good Chettinadu restaurant, Narayana Palace Restaurant, where one is served authentic Chettinadu cuisine. We booked the night dinner on the first day, but as we had many unscheduled programmes after we left the property, we decided to cancel the dinner and informed through mobile around 3.00 pm. But the information did not reach the persons concerned, and we were told by Pandian when we returned that our food was waiting. He did not believe when I said I informed well in advance. I had show the call log to him. He was not content with that wanted to talk with the manager, who said that he got the message, but not the details of the person! The breakfast was not great. The filter coffee was authentic. "The Mansion" has rooms in the first floor. Heritage view has rooms in the ground floor and a suite in the first floor. Parking is on road side. The attractions such as the "Raja's palace" and other heritage buildings are within walking distance.

The location is fantastic, offering stunning views of Chettinad Mansions with nice car parking available. The food prepared were more suited for foreign tourists so you will be disappointed if traditional Chettiar dishes were expected and one needs to wall for 10minutes from court to the restaurant inside the mansion. Considering this the price is slightly on the higher side for this place. Overall a nice place to explore if you are exploring the area for first time.

Had a pleasant stay. The staff were courteous and the breakfast was really good.
