We were a family of three with a three and half year old toddler. On 23rd January, 2026, we halted at Taradevi as our train couldn't continue to Shimla station because of the blizzard. Mr Raj Sharma managed a helpful & an honest local driver who brought us from Taradevi to Shimla's victory tunnel & in that blizzard Mr Sharma held our child & guided us to the homestay. He also made sure that our luggages were bought safely inside our room. We had a peaceful & comfortable stay at Aarika the next day. Every single meal was delicious & all our needs were met. We will always remember our stay at Aarika fondly as we enjoyed the heavy snow covered surroundings and excellent hospitality. Inspite of limited staff during our stay, the owners of Aarika never let us feel that and when I came back home I marveled at their efforts & all the hard work they did to ensure that our stay was comfortable in an extremely difficult time where the roads were blocked with snow & hence limited food supplies, power cut and limited staff. I will credit Aarika homestay for making our Shimla experience a memorable one that I will revisit for my life ! Thank you... 😊
