Houseboat New Golden Flower

Located on Nigeen lake (not Dal lake) The lake is cleaner and very peaceful as compared to Dal lake. Interior of houseboat and the decor is quiet good, behavior of the staffs were excellent, however faced some issue with availability of hot water. Overall experience 'good' , worth staying for 1 night.

A stay aboard one of these historic houseboats is a step back in time. Elegant construction and furnishings, lovely helpful staff and the most peaceful and serene location on the planet. Don't miss booking a shikara boat ride around the lake. The houseboats are a short distance from the mainland so expect to be ferried back and forth. As with any historic building, some of the facilities are a bit quirky but well worth a bit of patience.

As we were not sure about the hygiene at houseboat, we stayed just on last day of our stay in Kashmir. To our pleasant surprise, it was a great place - neat & clean, great hospitality, cordial staff, etc. Highly recommended.

I stayed in this Houseboat for 2 nights. The staff is good but there are numerous limitations. Not much variety in food, food wasn't even served hot. Electricity kept going off which caused us quite some delay in getting ready and heading out in time. Also, the geyser wasn't working properly and I had to take a cold shower because of this in temperature of 7 degrees. The staff isn't always available if you need something. A lot of time is wasted in bringing food from outside and then it becomes cold. We ended up paying extra 4k for the simplest breakfast of 2 days (like break omelette) and dinner (Dal chawal). The bed also wasn't comfortable at all. Also, the boat is smaller than what the picture shows. Don't just go by the looks. The experience was not good.

Golden Flower Houseboat is located very peaceful and calm Nigeen Lake. Views are amazing from this place. Staff is courteous and helpful. Interiors of Houseboat are antique and takes you back in time. Loved our stay the place!
