Bated Bay hotel caters well for families so if you’re looking for a basic clean place to stay with food and a place for children to play this is it. I stayed 2 nights and was attracted by the price. The room was basic but had a private bathroom (old but clean), the bed was comfortable, the AC worked well, it was quiet and I was able to buy a decent meal without driving anywhere else. I was lucky to be able to park my car close to the room but it is a matter of luck as the hotel seems very popular and the parking area was fairly full both days. All in all I was happy with my choice. The accommodation certainly isn’t swish but then it doesn’t cast as much as other places in the area.

Pay for what you get.
It is what it is. Looking for a cheap place to stay this is it. Pub is brilliant but the rooms could do with an upgrade. Dead cockroaches in the room. Bathroom smelled musty and mouldy. Take cleaning products with you. Fridge was full of water from leaking freezer section. But it did for the one night. Won’t be rushing back though.
