DeQueen Courtyard Inn

The positive is that the room was clean. The rest is that this is an old 1950s style single level motel where you park in front of each room. Amenities were minimal. Bed was not horrible but not good. Furniture appeared could have been original from decades ago, old fashioned, beat up looking. Has a small table with, 2 chairs (some stains), desk & chair, good sized fridge & basic microwave. A 3 drawer chest of drawers. It does have a flat screen TV but not a “smart”tv. Sink cannot be more than 29” high, no sink plug. In wall a/c unit, dated tile shower surround, slippery tub even with Slip resistant strips. Walls needed patching in places with poorly done patches in spots. Woodwork (doors, casings, all needed paint. The room had strong musty odor which I alleviated somewhat with room spray & running fan constantly. Window is next to door facing parking so if you open the drapes you have no privacy. It was like being in a cave. I booked after reading good reviews that I could not agree with after arriving. Very disappointing. I needed to be here 2 nights for a funeral but would never stay here again. No interaction with staff other than checkin & had communication difficulty due to heavy foreign accent. The coverlet on the bed looked nice
