Stayed here two years ago for Thanksgiving and loved it so much I knew I would return. Richard is a gem—friendly and accommodating, and his 4-course breakfasts are incredibly yummy!

Terrific hospitality from check in until we left. Gorgeous old Victorian home with nice amenities. The breakfast was delicious—just make sure to allot almost two hours in your schedule! You won’t want lunch later.

Make sure to leave your mornings open so that you can relax and enjoy a cup of tea on the porch. The multi course breakfast is an experience in and of itself. The host Richard is kind and knowledgeable. The home is a beautiful piece of history. 10/10 recommend.

I needed a place to stay attending a function in town. I wanted to find some rest in making it an overnight. I found some incredible old-school hospitality that made my weekend if not my month, and I very much hope to repeat the experience. My stay began with an introductory chat and tour with Richard who showed genuine interest in my travels, offered refreshments, and demonstrated a veteran enthusiasm for his work. His recommendations for local cuisine and attractions were spot on, introducing me to some of the best Italian food I've had in Minnesota at a venue I was later able to delight colleagues with. The room itself was clean and well furnished, quite comfortable, and exceeded my expectations. Though I booked Marthas room, the cheapest in the house, I was treated to very spacious lodgings and felt like a king. While the furniture was period, climate control was modern and responsive. Bathtub was deep and perfect for a long soak, complete with a flexible showerhead, the perfect end to a day on this walkable town. Outside the room were ample opportunities to relax from an incredible wrap around porch to a fully furnished library and more. Breakfast the following morning did not disappoint. The food was wonderful, including the special rush-order accommodations Richard made so I could get out the door early for a morning event. The table conversation was also delightful, unexpectedly easy in large part for the subtle initiative Richard took in arranging seating and promoting conversation in subtle comments delivering courses. I have several significant regrets over my stay: I wish I had stayed another two hours for as long as Breakfast could have been made to last, I wish I had stayed two more days, and I wish I had a clearer sense of when I can return; I can at least work on that right now. Do yourself a favor and book a few nights for a leisurely stay! Highly recommended. Would gladly repeat.

Richard is a most gracious host, and a wonderful innkeeper. The facilities are meticulously clean throughout. Guests are treated courteously, and breakfasts are not to be missed! My partner and I will be making return visits for as long as this wonderful guest house remains in operation, and long may it do so! If you are reading this - do not hesitate. The experience here is hands-down the best I've received at any hotel or B&B, no question. Do not pass up the opportunity to stay here.
