A really great place to stay

My one-night stay in the Boulder Dam Hotel, booked for $100.XX the day before, included: • Staff that was pleasant, friendly and helpful. • An impeccably clean room with one comfortable queen bed. The room decor is reminiscent of the 30s-40s; a time which included the construction on the band. The room, though not large, was very clean and had TV, phone and internet. Just down the hall was an ice machine (Ice bucket provided in the room) and near the ice machine was a "coffee and water" room where one could go to get a cup of either of those beverages at no charge. The bathroom had typical amenities: kleenex, shower gel, shampoo, body lotion, and a hair dryer. There was no tub; there was a stall shower, which was not large but adequate. Off the lobby is a restaurant. Stairs from the lobby level will take you to a bar with live entertainment on the Friday evening I was stayed there. At the lobby desk there is a counter poster with a QR code that provides directions (and an audio explanation if you have cell phone internet) for a self guided one mile walk around the town. Inside the hotel is the hotel museum which features the story of the construction of the Hoover Dam (Boulder Dam). It is very well done and admission is free. I would stay again at the Boulder Dam Hotel.

Central location easy parking friendly staff

Last year I explored the history-rich city of Boulder, sometimes considered the first master-planned town in the United States. The town was built to support the construction of the Boulder (now Hoover) Dam. I was able to take a self-guided tour of the Boulder Dam Hotel. I decided that if I were ever back in the area, I would try to stay there. This year I had the chance to do so after attending the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The hotel is about as different from the hotels on the Las Vegas strip as it is possible to imagine. The two-story hotel is charming, immaculate, and reasonably priced. Although not originally equippped with an elevator, it has one now. The rooms are furnished with period appropriate furniture and decor. The comfortable lobby was a pleasant place to warm up by the fire burning in the original stone fireplace. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The hotel is a gem!

What a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas. Our room was small but we expected that because of its age. The staff was very helpful. The room was spotless. Coffee was hot and just the right strength. We didn’t eat in the restaurant but it sure smelled good. The town of Boulder City is a gem.
