Panamint Springs Motel & Tents

We had a great time! Cabin was small but nice and clean!

Make sure you know what you are booking, cabin or tent. Pros: Nice view, nice place to stay in that remote area (without cell phone service), ~ 1h drive to death valley visitor center, hot shower, restaurant nearby Cons: I stayed there at the end of March, very cold at nigh and the blanket they provided was thin and not warm enough. You can feel and hear the wind blow and rain hitting the tent. No electricity or light inside the tent. Only 2 toilets but 1 clogged during my stay Overall acceptable with this remote location and price

It's a bit of a drive to Furnace Creek on the eastside (not impossible but it's a big park) but an ideal place to stay if you want to explore the westside of the park. We didn't have a 4WD but managed to hike Darwin Falls and Wildrose Peak and the Dunes. The staff are all really nice at Panamint Springs - and the restaurant has good food with a well stocked general store next door. Not too far away you can also grab a bite to eat at Stovepipe Wells - and they have fire pits for those looking to grill their own food. We were only there for a night and stayed in one of the small cabins so were grateful to have the Panamint Spring restaurant with great wait staff just across the street! And at night, sitting outside and looking at the stars is a sight to behold.
