To be fair, the night desk attendant asked if I wanted to tour this first-floor room before accepting it, so maybe there was a better room available. (But he seemed more brash than kind, so I didn't accept the tour.) At night, I could see stains on the carpet, scuffs on the walls, dings on the doors, and the laundry room and hallways had some darker or rusty-looking ceiling areas. Two hallway exits to outdoors were out of order. There were other minor problems: luggage rack in the closet was sagging/broken, so I couldn't close the closet door. The kitchen sink had to be adjusted to full to turn on at all. We couldn't figure out how to operate the phone-- got a fast busy signal when calling front desk or trying to listen to messages; it kept flashing. The tub was a little dirty. The bed covers were kind of flimsy/thin. In the morning, though, the place looked better and less depressing. That was also when an extremely nice desk attendant was on duty. The showerhead was fantastic, with good pressure, easy temperature control, and no splashing. The A/C kept the bedroom very cool throughout the stay, even with the temporary power outage that night. There was only one luggage cart for the building, but it was a good one that rolled well. It was also helpful, when we pulled out the couch bed, that it was already made up with sheets and a blanket, nicely cuffed.

The hotel looks old. We had to change the room for one of the stove didn’t work. But the room we switched to had problem with the dishwasher. The water backed up through the sink and flowed into the floor. I told the front desk in the morning but still didn’t fixed when I came back to hotel in the evening. The cups looked dirty, having stains at the edge.
