Toilet was backed up room stunk...

I've stayed in Motel 6 other places before and they were clean so I gave this one a try due to needing sleep because a family member passing away hours earlier in the day while I was in town. At check in I was told the kind of room (king size bed) isn't available and that they only have 2 beds available for an upcharge. When asking why isn't the room with king size bed available, I was told because it's not clean. Yet, they upcharged for a room with 2 beds that is dirty and have dead roaches in it when you walk in. One of the drawers had an empty big cereal bag with crumbs all in the drawer. The tv remote didn't work and when turning the tv on from the tv itself, you could change the channel because that button wasn't working for it. There was a big square shaped hole in the bathroom wall behind the door along with something (perhaps feces) smeared on that wall, which I didn't notice until the morning of checkout. and the bathroom door looked dirty. I believe there was mold or mildew in the corner of the shower curtain rod. There was a cracked mirror by the sink area. I cleaned everything before sitting anything down or sitting down. The lobby area when checking had an awful smell like moth balls or something. The owners of this place obviously does not care. It should not be 50 plus taxes, 55 plus change, which is what I paid. Well actually about 62ish with upcharge. This motel should be 20 per night and that's with taxes. That's how disgusting it is. When checking out, I told the morning person about and he seemed disappointed in his co-worker, which may be his family member, for charging me an upcharge. I know this because I can read facial expressions. He said I could have changed rooms and I explained why I got the room, which I checked in around 8pm or right before. I handed him the bug spray, air freshner, and cleaner that the night person let me use. I also had my own sanitizer I brought with me. I should not be charged what I paid for this room. It should be half of what I paid. This place must be where people go to stay long term at times. There's no care into maintaining this motel. Pictures wpuld not upload properly.

So the place is very old run down, trash in the parking lot and over all sense of being not safe. There is a lot of construction workers and people bbq in front of their rooms! No ice machine, no coffee facilities, there was two of us and only one bath towel, had to go ask for another, and towels were all stained and threadbare. Linen was not any better. There are stains and mold in the bathroom. The AC was loud, at least it was working. This was probably worst motel experience ever and not even worth $70. However the person at the front desk was polite and responsive.

The Management Staff was rude. The facility bathroom was filthy especially the shower/tub. My credit card was over charged for the 1/2day service. My receipt was one price and the charge was more. It was awful and we couldn’t stay under those conditions.

Motel 6 is the worst place to stay !! Crack heads , people walking around in hoodies and shades at Night!! Bath tub was nasty!! We couldn’t stay even the nite !! I am requesting my money BACK !!
