I had a great experience staying at this hotel in one of their deluxe rooms with a private bathroom. The hotel is clean (not sparkling clean, but clean), sheets are clean, Aircon in the rooms, and free tea and coffee and water on the corridor. Free toiletries as well and a small snack for breakfast. Location is it's top feature I guess: 5 minutes walk to Tawang train station (so very convenient if going to Jakarta or Surabaya) and 5 minutes to the many restaurants and coffee shops in the old town. The rehabilitated Ara is a bit pricey though, this is the reason I guess this hotel also cost more than similar ones throughout Java. Staff is nice but can hardly speak two words in English, body and sign language demanded.

Kamarnya bau rokok
Lokasinya strategis banget, pas di sebrang Stasiun Tawang dan area Kota Tua. Jadi tidak perlu transportasi tambahan apapun untuk akses kedua tempat ini. Harganya juga affordable untuk lokasi sebagus ini. Tapi, buat yang tidak terbiasa dengan bau/asap rokok, sebaiknya pertimbangkan lebih jauh lagi. Bau rokok di kamar yang saya tempati sangat kuat dan rasanya masih menempel meskipun sudah disemprot pewangi ruangan oleh stafnya. Saya mungkin hanya menghabiskan waktu kurleb 7-8 jam untuk tidur, tapi besoknya langsung sakit tenggorokan berat dan masih belum sembuh setelah 5 hari per saya mengetik review ini.
