Stayed one night, amazing hotel with history, and the staff were great.

The location was convenient for us being equidistant from multiple points of interest. The grounds and building were beautiful. There was a lovely courtyard with a fountain as pictured. There's lots of comfy seating in the entrance for a drink. We didn't try the restaurant or bar ourselves so can't comment on that. The bed was very comfortable and the room was nice and warm. I would definitely book again and for the price of our modest room it was great value for money.

An incredible hotel with absolutely 1st class staff who can't do enough to help. Spoke to numerous members of staff from all aspects of running & looking after this wonderful hotel & everyone of them were more than happy to chat, show you around, & provide any help or service required. The rooms are nothing short of amazing with some truly memorable features & were warm, spotless and so quiet & peaceful that it took me 2 nights to get used to the only sounds being the wildlife out in the gardens & woodlands during the night as I was able to keep my windows open throughout to allow all that lovely fresh country air into the room. Room service was a first for me & what a pleasure, with the most amazing (and plentiful) breakfast in the room each morning, along with a couple of evening meals on the nights after I'd exhausted myself walking around the expansive grounds & woodlands. The interior parts of the hotel are so unlike anywhere you may have stayed before & there's plenty to explore inside with some wonderful history & photo opportunities. Inside are also many cosy quiet places to sit & relax with a drink or meal, along with a lovely garden bar area with huge conservatory for dining in attached which looks out onto the grounds. If visiting don't forget to check out The Abbeygate bar & restaurant which is the oldest part of the medieval buildings & situated inside the old stables just 100yds or so from the garden bar area. This is also where they hold the medieval banquets at weekends which I've heard are fantastic evenings. The price of staying here is a luxury expense for someone such as myself, however it was more than worth treating myself to break up a journey home from London after having to travel from Manchester the weekend before to drop my grandson off, and I will definitely return with my wife for a stay in the future, the sooner the better actually but Summertime would be well worth a visit. There's too many staff to name here but I'd like to thank each & every one of you for such a wonderful few days, many thanks & hope to see you again soon, Sean.

An amazing hotel with fantastic staff who go above & beyond to make your stay perfect. So peaceful with so many interesting historic aspects that after 2 nights & with only 1 night left before checkout I just had to book an extra night as I simply didn't want to leave. The rooms are pricey but that's to be expected considering the cost of running & maintaining such an amazing place, and you can't really put a price on the service provided by all members of staff. Would be visiting for a few days every month if I could afford it, as I'm sure would everyone who's ever stayed here if they could, but as it is I'll be returning as soon as possible to enjoy Coombe Abbey at different times of the year as I can only imagine the beauty of the grounds during summer & the magical aspect during December & January when the woodlands & gardens are illuminated. A huge thanks to all the staff (far too many to name here) for such a pleasant stay, Sean.
