Our experience at Joglo Ayem was delightful. The location is convenient, especially if you plan to visit the Prambanan area, with its proximity to Candi Kalasan and Plaosan. However distance to Borobudor and from airport is around 2 hours by car. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. They arranged an early morning car to the airport for us and changed our breakfast to dinner to fit our flight schedule.We wish nothing but the best for Joglo Ayem.

This resort features a traditional Jogja-style design, with almost everything constructed from wood, giving it a rustic and authentic old-world atmosphere. The architecture, interior décor, and furniture all reflect a classic Javanese aesthetic, which may appeal to travelers seeking a cultural and traditional experience. However, comfort was not one of the resort's strong points for me. The wooden furniture, while visually charming, was not particularly comfortable. The bed frame had an unusual design, and both the mattress and pillows were quite firm, making it difficult to get a restful night's sleep. Breakfast was delivered directly to the room and consisted of local dishes accompanied by tropical fruits and a beverage. It was a pleasant way to experience regional flavors without having to leave the room. The bathroom was decent and well-maintained, with amenities that were satisfactory and met basic expectations. While it was not luxurious, it provided everything needed for a comfortable stay. Overall, staying here was an interesting cultural experience and offered a glimpse into traditional Jogja living. However, I would recommend it primarily to travelers who appreciate heritage-style accommodations and authentic local character rather than those looking for modern comforts and a highly comfortable stay.

I very much enjoyed my stay at JAT. Located away from the city, it's situated amongst corn fields and in the wee hours of morning one hears the sounds of the muslim call to prayer, followed by a beautiful chorus of birds at dawn. In the evening, crickets sing and there's a nice little garden area to enjoy the cool night. The place is clean and quiet. The staff are super hospitable and the morning breakfast tray is a generous spread of fruit, well-prepared local items and dessert. Loved it!
