Old country house, decor as expected. No offer of lounge areas advertised, no self serve tea & coffee available, had to request. Character in rooms bring issues, however. Whilst beds were comfortable, the bathroom door couldn't be closed properly. Bathroom had a rug across floor at toilet and behind the freezer standing bath needs a good clean. Wasn't explicitly stated if breakfast included or not and no price advertised, hence, given the accommodation type, would be normal to include. It turned out to be a fixed smalluish plate of overcooked food with no choice given, even for the kids. The offered toast didn't arrive. Served in main kitchen at communal table, hence forcing socialising with other guests. Only afterwards were we told that would be £11 per head, a fairly substantial bill increase for four people.

A lovely old fashioned country house with amazing gardens. John is a genial host who was accommodating in every way, fantastic cooked breakfast. Can’t wait to return. Thanks John

John was a lovely host, he went beyond what you would expect from a host. He personally drove us to, and collected us from, a nearby bar on one of the evening's we stayed. He was a very approachable, down to earth, and friendly man. For the price being charged it's an excellent experience and fully recommended.

Beautiful and interesting place to stay. You're getting luxury at low cost, as long as you have a car to get out there.
