Room had lovely large window overlooking the rear garden. This was complimented by a double seater facing this window. Bed and furniture was OK Bathroom was okay except whilst showering in the morning the water suddenly started going cold and this then stopped the shower from working. It came back on again after 30 seconds Food and drink in the pub was excellent as we're all the staff

As it said, small single room is exactly what you get, it is very well furnished, clean, with en-suite,ideal for the single traveller. Breakfast is not provided, but having eaten an evening meal in the restaurant, is was not required the next morning.

Stayed for one night while sightseeing and found the inn to be ideal while visiting. The staff are brilliant and really enjoyed the stay

Chosen for its location in relation to Cragside,Alnwick,Alnmouth etc I couldn't have been more pleased. Upgraded to the high ceilinged double room with ensuite known as 'the box room' I found it equipped with all necessities, clean ,light and airy with a good view. Staff were helpful and friendly,particularly John,the manager who greeted me at check in. Too tired on my first night to participate in the weekly pub quiz night ,on the second night I preferred watching fifa world cup matches with sound on my bedroom tv rather than view the muted tvs in the bar. For a change from the pub menu I found the artisan bakery/ cafe The Running Fox sited across the road worthy of its regional mini chain reputation. Accommodation for a single traveller in summer at less than £60 per night is fantastic value that I can absolutely recommend.

We loved our stay at the Village Inn. The staff were fantastic and the bed was comfortable. We day tripped to all attractions in Northumberland from here. Foor was great. The corner shop over the road was convenient for a bacon sandwich for breakfast and supplies for a picnic lunch.
