The Garden Rooms at Newton Hall Estate

This is a smashing place to spend a few days. We were in the smallest accommodation (which is bijou!) but it had everything we needed. Staff at the Hall and the Joiners were very friendly and helpful. The meals at the Joiners are very good (we have been going there for years), and breakfast was delicious, with a nice range of options. I do think it is a little expensive for the accommodation. My only recommendation would be to make the little gardens enclosed - we would have loved to leave the door open and let our dog in and out/ enjoy the birdsong etc but he was escaping between the trees!

We've stayed here a few times before but it seems to have gone downhill. The room hadn't been cleaned properly, the shower flooded the bathroom and we then couldn't use it, and there were problems with the heating. All we got from staff at checkout was an apology and assurance they would sort out these problems... but that didn't address the fact that our stay had been spoiled by these issues. Disappointing!!
