We stayed in a courtyard room behind the pub. Room was clean and modern, and nicely furnished. Comfortable double bed - although pillows slightly soft for my liking. Nice ensuite with a decent shower. Our room was very quiet, away from the pub and road. Breakfast was great, some of the nicest bacon I have ever had!

Didn’t get the room I actually booked. Instead got a room in the cabin annex that I purposely didn’t reserve. We arrived late after a long drive and couldn’t be bothered asking to change. The room was pleasant enough once I figured out how to turn off the heating. It was ok for a one night stay. We could hear the folks in the rooms next door and they certainly weren’t being loud. Just very thin walls. The electric shower was a bit disappointing and the pressure was weak so took a while to wash. Shower drain was a bit whiffy. Otherwise the whole place was spotlessly clean. We eat in the restaurant and the food was very good with good menu options. Drinks in the bar were good too. Breakfast was great also. All the staff we met were excellent and genuinely very friendly.

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, good food although the menu was a little limited and the vegetarian option had sold out. . The room was well prepared with everything we needed. Check out was 11am so we didn’t have to rush. Breakfast was good, freshly cooked and tasty. Good value, we’ve stayed many times and will definitely be visiting again. We’d certainly recommend it.

A lovely village location, good reviews, impressive photographs, and a family recommendation all stoked high expectations of The Bull. The staff were friendly and very helpful, apart from the chef who refused to swap a garlic bread accompaniment for a handful of fries, citing portion costing. However, the building/decor is getting towards the end of its maintenance cycle and there are lots of signs of it needing a bit of TLC. The Bull positions itself as a solid mid-range destination but the current standard of accommodation and food do not match this projection. So, all in all, a slightly disappointing experience.

This is our second stay at The Bull Inn. A short drive from Bury St Edmonds, in a lovely village just off the A14. Rooms are very nice, clean, comfy beds,good showers. The best part is the food, our evening meal was fantastic all cooked to order and tasted great. Breakfast was also great. Staff are all friendly. We will stay again just to eat the food.
