Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh

Lovely building, a little tired in some places but overall very well kept and near Monaco standards. our room cleaning was missed one day and staff sent snacks as a consolation. Valet convenient - perhaps understaffed sometimes. Be aware that there is only one lane of traffic and the valet is inside, so if there's no where to pull your car up, you may need to circle a few times. We unfortunately had to block traffic twice and run in for assistance. Quiet neighborhood -if you want something livelier probably not the best location, but having a car we could drive wherever we needed to go.

Our family's abnb smelled of smoke when we arrived. During a graduation and marathon weekend in Pittsburgh, we were able to score (last) three gorgeous rooms at the Hotel Monaco. This Kimpton SHINES. Olga was a tremendous help and the front staff were cheerful, kind and welcoming.

Very nice hotel! Rooms were nice and tidy and for it being right in the city was quiet in the rooms. Will definitely be staying again when I come back to Pittsburgh!

Room and common area were top notch. Loved everything about it. Hotel restaurant was a let down. Couldn't get a reservation for dinner so ordered it to go. Waited over an hour and called to check the status. They forgot about it and it was cold when we picked it up. Figured we'd try again for breakfast but they wouldn't seat us without a reservation, even though the place was empty. Was told we could eat at the bar. The bar was filled with people like us all wanting to eat a meal at the hotel they woke up in. We sat at the bar and waited 10-15mins before deciding to leave. One bartender trying to accommodate several groups while restaurant is empty doesn't really make sense. Stay here. Its great. But make a reservation if you want to enjoy the restaurant.

The hotel was beautifully designed and we enjoyed our large room with the bathroom in a separate area. The staff was friendly and the check in/out process was quick. They didn’t mention the breakfast credit amount at check in but it was $25 per person which barely covers the cost because their restaurant is quite pricy for what it is. I wouldn’t recommend paying for the breakfast option and just get some free coffee and eat elsewhere. Other than that it was a nice experience. There is a hot/cold water dispenser in the fitness center so that was nice to be able to drinking water whenever you want since bottled water isn’t provided in the room. They charge like $38 for valet parking but if you drive literally 30 seconds and take a right into 6th street there is a garage and you’ll pay $19-$26 for overnight if you just drive yourself so definitely do that it was easy!
